Deepak Budhiraja is a Cyber Security Specialist with over 17 years of experience in the field of cyber and information security, which includes cyber security architecture, strategy and risk management framework implementation and information security management systems, ISO27001 & ISO23301 implementation and reviews.
Deepak has proven success in leading and designing enterprise security architectures, performing risk assessments/security audits, managing end-to-end security programmes, establishing global compliance programs against regulatory standards, and establishing control environments. In addition, Deepak has vast experience in assisting organisations in achieving desired security maturity aligned to various standards such as NIST, ISO27001 and regulatory requirements such as GDPR and NIS-D.
At Waystone, Deepak offers clients guidance and recommendations for security improvements and risk mitigation approaches. Deepak also delivers interactive, customised training to clients, including Board and Senior Management, and carries out a wide range of InfoSec reviews. In addition, Deepak acts as Chief Information Security Officer for Waystone Compliance Solutions clients.
Prior to joining Waystone, Deepak held the role of Head of Security at SoftwareONE in Dublin, where he provided leadership and oversight of the cyber security and privacy of enterprise products and customers. Previously, Deepak was Senior Manager, Cyber Security Consulting at EY in Dublin, where he led large security transformation programmes. He was also part of the first response team as a trusted advisor for multiple public and private sector clients as the Crisis Consultant for cyber breaches with key responsibilities included evaluating and standing crisis communication across the organisation and required external parties.
Deepak holds a Master’s degree in Computer Applications from Amity University, India. In addition, Deepak is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
