Jin Lien joined Waystone as a Director, with the Chicago office as their primary office location. Jin began her compliance career 10 years ago when she joined a startup RIA as its second employee. In this pivotal role, she created and cultivated a risk based compliance program from inception, growing the program as the firm’s AUM surpassed $1 billion. As the Chief Compliance Officer, she managed regulatory filings, regulatory examinations, employee training, client-facing and marketing material reviews and administration of the Code of Ethics.
Drawing upon her previous experience as a civil litigator, she transitioned to White Oak Global Advisors as Senior Counsel and Compliance Associate. There, she assisted the General Counsel in managing litigated matters in international jurisdictions as well as supported the Chief Compliance Officer in managing a global compliance program with office locations in six different countries and over 25 investment products in numerous global jurisdictions. She also actively participated in Board of Director meetings and managed workflow for multiple committees.
Jin holds a Juris Doctorate from Seattle University’s School of Law.
