Marta holds over a decade of invaluable experience in governance, risk, and compliance. Her expertise extends across the banking and technology sectors, encompassing both the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates.
At Waystone, Marta serves as a Compliance Officer and MLRO for entities operating within the Abu Dhabi Global Market (“ADGM”) and the Dubai International Financial Centre (“DIFC”). In addition, she offers her specialised skills in compliance and AML support as an integral member of the Consultancy and Projects teams.
Before joining Waystone, Marta held the position of Vice President within Fund Services at Maples, UAE. In this role, she managed a team responsible for Transfer Agency services, delivering exceptional client service across multiple jurisdictions. Marta has also served as a Compliance Officer and MLRO at Intertrust, UAE, and as a Deputy Compliance Officer and MLRO at Apex Fund Services, UAE. Prior to this, Marta held compliance and governance positions at HSBC and Barclays in the United Kingdom.
Marta’s educational background includes a Global MBA from Alliance Manchester Business School, a Diploma in Governance, Risk, and Compliance from the University of Manchester, and her ongoing pursuit of a postgraduate Diploma in Financial Crime Compliance from the University of Manchester. In addition, Marta has successfully achieved her Six Sigma certification.
