Nora O’Dwyer joined Waystone Compliance Solutions in 2022 as Senior Associate. Nora is a registered Compliance Officer and MLRO for a range of firms in the DIFC and ADGM. Additionally, Nora provides compliance, AML and authorisation support to firms via the Projects Team.
In addition, Nora is a member of the Data Protection Team and assists firms to review their existing data protection framework, working to implement policies and procedures to ensure firms comply with the local data protection regimes. As a Data Protection Officer, Nora acts as the point of contact with the Data Protection Commissioner, assisting with the compliant resolution of data subject access requests and data breaches, as well as enhancing the firm’s data protection framework.
Nora has over twelve years of experience in the financial services industry across a range of areas including compliance, depositary (traditional and real estate funds), custody, transfer agency, financial reporting, project management and fund accounting.
Prior to joining Waystone, Nora held the role of Compliance Consultant for Northern Trust, Ireland. Nora’s role included reviewing the compliance assurance program (CAP) annually to ensure it reflected any changes in regulation/business model for both the depositary and the administrative legal entities, reviewing their compliance monitoring plan and performing allocated, risk-based monitoring and testing reviews.
Nora holds a Bachelor of Business Studies in Economics and Finance from the University of Limerick, Ireland and has received her professional Diploma in Compliance from University College Dublin, Ireland. In addition, Nora holds a number of professional certifications.
