Thematic and technical deep dive reviews
One of the Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA’s) supervisory tools is the use of thematic reviews that focus on themes that are important to the FCA in terms of its statutory objectives and as set out in its annual Business Plan.
In the past such thematic reviews have focused on individual products, specific sectors, or specific risk types.
FCA thematic review services
When the FCA sets out its intentions to undertake thematic reviews, we can help clients drill down into the areas of focus and identify any potential issues that could be identified during a thematic review. Where firms are not selected by the FCA to form part of a thematic review, the FCA will expect those firms to commission their own review, once the FCA publishes its report.
Some clients, as part of their own internal risk management process, may also commission our services to assess specific themes that appear high on their risk maps.
