Madina Zaltsman is a DFSA-authorised Compliance Officer/MLRO with experience across a variety of disciplines including finance, risk management, and business operations. Madina is based in the Dubai operation and in her capacity as Manager, provides outsourcing for firms in the DIFC and ADGM using her extensive knowledge base to provide day-to-day compliance support.
Madina spent nearly 20 years gaining experience in project management, accounting and administration in various sectors before changing her focus onto the financial services industry. For the five years prior to joining Waystone, Madina managed operations for a DIFC-based compliance wing of Apex Group and has held outsourced compliance and finance positions with DFSA and ADGM FSRA-authorised firms including fund and asset managers, financial advisors, and branches of international groups.
Madina is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (UK), ACAMS (USA), Institute of Management Accountants (USA), and Project Management Institute (USA). Madina holds certificates in Global Financial Compliance and Investment Operations (CISI), a Master’s degree in Economics, and is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (ACAMS) as well as a Certified Management Accountant (IMA).
Recent work includes:
- Assisting applicant firms to obtain DFSA and ADGM FSRA authorisation, including provision of a compliance framework, in-line with regulatory requirements.
- Ongoing AML and regulatory compliance support to regulated firms in both institutional and retail sectors.
- Conducting gap analysis of the ADGM FSRA rules applicable to foreign fund managers of the domestic funds vs existing policies and procedures of the UK FCA-authorised fund and portfolio manager.
- Conducting compliance monitoring programmes.
